How to Ask Eira So the Answer Is About You

How to ask Eira questions that get answers about your chart, not generic ones: what the chat sees, five habits, example questions and what to check in a reply.

How to Ask Eira So the Answer Is About You

"What's in store for me in love?" And back comes an answer that would fit half the people you know. It stings a little: you asked your own astrologer and got a magazine horoscope. The problem isn't Eira. A question with nothing to hold on to gets an answer with nothing to hold on to.

Eira already knows your chart. What she needs from you is a situation, not a topic. Below: what Eira actually sees when you write to her, five habits that make her answers personal, and how to tell from the answer itself whether it's really about you.

What Eira sees when you write

The chat with Eira isn't an astrology search engine. Every time she replies, she has several layers of data about you in front of her. Once you know what those layers are, it's much easier to know what to ask.

Your whole birth chart

Every planet, the sign it's in, the house it falls in, and where all twelve houses begin and end. Plus your Ascendant, your Midheaven and the aspects between your planets. This is who you are: your habitual reactions and your strengths. If houses and aspects still feel like a blur, start with our guide to reading your natal chart.

Today's sky

Where the planets are right now, which of your houses they're moving through, and which of them are touching your natal planets today. This is the "what's happening now" layer. When you ask "is today a good day for…", Eira answers from this layer, not from your birth chart. Mars in your 4th house at birth can't tell you whether today is good for fixing up the flat. Today's Moon passing through that house can.

Your transit calendar for the year ahead

The major events of the next twelve months, with dates: when the slow planets move into your houses and touch your planets, and for the next few months, the faster planets too. When you ask "when", Eira takes the dates from here rather than making them up. If there's nothing in the calendar for your topic, she'll tell you so.

The last 10 messages of your conversation

Eira always keeps these in mind, so you can follow up without repeating yourself. She can reach further back in the chat too, but only in fragments. If an important detail came up a while ago, it's simpler to remind her in one sentence.

If your birth time isn't exact

Without an exact time, the chart is built for noon and your data carries an "approximate time" note, which Eira can see. The planets' signs barely change because of this, but the houses can shift entirely. So in that case, read anything about houses with a pinch of salt, or better still, pin down your birth time. Why the hour matters so much is covered in why your birth time matters.

How to ask: five habits

1. A situation, not a topic

A topic is "work", "love", "money". A situation is what's going on in your life right now.

❌ "What about my career?" ✅ "I've been offered a move to another department and I'm not sure. What does my chart say about decisions like this?"

The first question only lets Eira describe your 10th house in general. The second gives her a real fork in the road: change versus stability, a new team versus the one you know. The answer is about the decision you actually have to make.

2. A specific date

"What's going on for me on October 24?" Eira will look at the sky on that exact day instead of assuming today's positions still hold. For a question about a particular day, she works out separately where the planets will be, which of your houses they'll be passing through and which of your planets they'll touch. Give a date rather than "sometime soon". "On Friday" works too, but an exact date is more reliable.

3. "When" means a window

"When's the best time this year to sort out my finances?" The answer comes back as windows from your transit calendar: roughly from this date to that one, when a certain planet moves into your house of money. The windows are approximate, with no exact day, and that's honest: a transit lasts a while, it doesn't happen in a single minute. How to tell a transit that truly matters for you from background noise is explained in which transit matters most for you.

4. Pick up where a reading left off

Under every reading you've opened (your core analysis, a life area, karma, a recommendation or your current period) there's a "Discuss with Eira" button. It brings the reading into the conversation, so you can ask about a single paragraph: "What does that line about control in relationships mean? Where is it in my chart?" Without the button, Eira knows which readings you've opened, but she only sees the first lines of each.

5. Ask "why?"

Ask her to show which placement in your chart the answer comes from. "Why do you think so? Which planet points to that?" That way you can see where the astrology ends and your own interpretation begins. If the answer rests on a specific planet and house, you can check it in your chart yourself. If there's nothing behind it, that's your cue to ask again.

Rewriting your question: examples by topic

Love

❌ "What's in store for me in love?" ✅ "We've been seeing each other for three months and I keep expecting him to leave. Is that about him or about my chart?"

Career

❌ "Will I be successful?" ✅ "I've worked in accounting for ten years and I keep thinking about design. What in my chart supports a change like that, and what will hold me back?"

Money

❌ "Will I have money?" ✅ "Money comes easily to me and leaves just as easily. What does my chart say about that, and where should I set limits for myself?"

Family and home

❌ "What about my family?" ✅ "After every call with my mum I'm off balance for the whole evening. What does my chart say about that?"

A decision in the next few weeks

❌ "What will November be like?" ✅ "I want to talk to my manager about a promotion in November. Which weeks of the month are calmer for that?"

What to look for in the answer

Your house or planet is named

Then the answer is about you. A line like "you have Venus in the 8th house, so…" can be checked: open your chart and find that placement. If the answer is only general phrases that would suit anyone, ask: "What exactly in my chart points to that?"

For "now" questions, the basis is transits, not your birth chart

When you ask about today, this week or the coming month, the answer should include the sky of that time: where the Moon is, which of your houses the Sun is crossing, which planet is touching which. Your birth chart explains how you'll experience it, but it doesn't answer "when".

If it isn't in the chart, Eira will say so

A chart doesn't answer everything. If there's nothing notable about your topic in it, or no suitable dates in your calendar, Eira will tell you instead of inventing something. That's not a glitch, it's a sign of an honest answer.

What to do: one question, one message

Each message uses one token, the unit Eira uses to count chat questions. If an answer doesn't arrive, because the connection dropped or something went wrong on our side, the token is returned.

New users get 10 tokens once, when their chart is built. They don't expire when the free trial ends: the chat stays open as long as you have tokens. A subscription adds 100, 300 or 1,200 tokens, for one month, three months or a year. When a friend joins through your link and builds their chart, you both get 15 tokens. Your balance is shown at the top of the chat.

So don't split one question into five short ones, and don't cram five topics into one message either. One situation, one message, in detail. There's plenty of room: a single message can be up to 4,000 characters, nearly a full page.

One more small thing: write in whatever language is easiest for you. Eira will answer in the same language, even if your settings say otherwise.

What to avoid

Expecting the chart to name an exact event: "will he call on Friday?" Astrology describes the background and your tendencies, not a script. Eira can tell you how likely a conversation is and what matters to you in it, but she won't name the hour of the call.

She also won't give you a diagnosis, legal advice or tell you where to invest. You can ask how you tend to handle stress according to your chart, but not what's wrong with your health. You can talk about your relationship with money, but not which shares to buy. That's what doctors, lawyers and financial advisers are for.

And finally: don't test Eira by sending the same question several times in a row. If an answer misses, add detail instead. A new detail changes the answer far more than a repeat does.

If your chat is still empty, Eira will open it herself with one observation from your chart and suggest three questions to get started, free of charge. How a conversation like this differs from the short daily tip is covered in Eira's Tip of the Day, and the questions people bring to Eira most often are in three questions people ask an astrologer.

Frequently asked questions

Can Eira really see my birth chart?

Yes. Before every reply she has your planets with their signs and houses, your house cusps, Ascendant, Midheaven and aspects. Plus today's sky and your transit calendar for the year ahead.

Why was the answer so generic?

Most often because the question was a topic rather than a situation. Add what's happening, what you've already decided and what you're unsure about. Then ask her to show which placement in your chart the answer relies on.

Does Eira remember our conversation?

The last 10 messages, always. She can go further back, but only in fragments, so it's best to restate an important detail from an old conversation in one sentence.

Can I ask about a specific day?

Yes. Give the date, for example "what's going on for me on October 24", and Eira will look at where the planets are on that very day in relation to your chart.

How much does one question cost?

One message is one token. Everyone starts with 10 tokens, and a subscription adds from 100 to 1,200. If an answer doesn't arrive, the token is returned.

What if my birth time isn't exact?

You can still ask, but read answers about houses with caution: without an exact time, the houses can shift. If you can find your birth time on documents or from family, update it in your profile.
